Make, Shake and Singalong – Tuesday 4th August
Get creative with the North Yorkshire Waste and Recycling Team and turn everyday recyclable materials into your very own musical instrument.
As part of this year’s Read to the Beat Summer Reading Challenge, you’ll design and make an instrument using recycled materials, then put it to the test by joining in with the music. Any talented musicians please sing along!
Can your homemade instrument keep the beat? Come along, get crafty, make some noise, and discover how recycling and music can come together in a fun and creative way.
The library has collected recycled items such as crisp tubes, coffee tins and tubs, but do feel free to bring anything that might make an interesting instrument with you, which is child friendly.
Just decorate your instrument with embellishments, colouring pens and really make it your own.
Suitable for children of all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
