Welcome to Stokesley Community Library
Stokesley Community Library (formerly The Globe), started as a community-run library on 1st of April 2017. The library was officially opened on 15th, June 2017, by celebrated historical novelist and academic, Philippa Gregory.
We serve Stokesley and surrounding districts; including Ingleby Greenhow, Seamer, Carlton, Great Broughton, Ingleby Arncliffe, Swainby and Chop Gate.

About Stokesley Community Library
The library became a community-run library on 1 April 2017 and was officially opened by celebrated historical novelist and academic, Philippa Gregory, on 15 June 2017.
The continued development of the library is dependent on donations, fund raising, volunteer input, and support from local businesses.
We are generously funded by Stokesley Town Council (including the employment of our Library Manager) and receive financial support from various local Parish Councils.
We offer a wide range of accessible, library services and are proud to be a genuine community hub. Explore this website to discover more or, better still, pay us a visit in person! A warm welcome is always guaranteed!
Events
Become a volunteer
We welcome volunteers over the age of sixteen. In addition to Library Assistant duties, other rich and varied volunteering opportunities are available – either on an ongoing, or ad hoc basis. Our volunteers choose when, and how often they provide support. Full training is given, and there will be opportunities to build confidence by shadowing our experienced volunteers. Learning and experience are always evolving here at the library, and we pride ourselves on being a collaborative team.Our Latest News

The library has received a generous donation of reading scheme books. They are available on our pre-loved book trollies, just outside the library.
